Connexions
Young
people and especially sixth form students at some schools in Sheffield can
E -Vote their opinions and needs directly into a secure web service by
using the Public DataWeb network. In certain schools kiosks have been
installed and are proving popular with students.
The
Sheffield kiosks have been modified to read most types of smart card and
especially the Connexions Card - the young person's services access card. The
interconnectivity work has been carried out within a government funded
project.
Future
plans for the cards are for general access for council services and for
job and career information, library services and other general services in the city.
